To
help your neutralizers work properly use one of Marlo's neutralizing medias:
ANF is a finely ground marble or limestone, very high in calcium
carbonate, which is used to raise the pH readings of low pH water.
Acidic waters on contact
with ANF slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces
the potential leaching of copper, lead, and other metals found in typical
plumbing systems. Periodic backwashing will prevent the bed from "packing"
and maintain high service rates.
Depending on the pH
and service flow, the calcite bed will have to be periodically added to
as the calcium carbonate is depleted.
As the ANF dissolves
and neutralizes the water, it will increase hardness and a softener may
be necessary after the neutralizing filter.
AN-COR by neutralizing
the free carbon dioxide in water, can correct red water conditions and render
it to a non-corrosive condition. AN-COR, being a reactive magnesium oxide,
is used most effectively where pH correction is substantial or high flow
conditions are in use. AN-COR, being soluble to acidity, will have to be
replenished periodically. Please note, under certain low flow conditions,
AN-COR may overcorrect and create a basic condition.
AN-MIX by combining
the slow reacting slow flow properties of ANF to the high flow neutralizing
properties of AN-COR, Marlo has created a mix that may be used where over
correcting and high basic conditions may occur.
